This gorgeous necklace features various geometric, textured shapes in sterling and fine silver, which are linked together in an asymmetrical pattern with a gorgeous piece of Cobalto Calcite set in a 14 karat gold claw setting. Stone can be worn centered or offset on the neck. Fine silver geometric links are further accented with thin layers of 24 karat gold using a Korean gilding technique called Keum Boo.
Keum Boo is achieved by heating depleted sterling silver or fine silver over a hot kiln at approximately 700 degree. Once the piece is sufficiently heated 24 karat gold is applied and burnished with a steel burnisher or hard stone, like an agate, to create a permanent diffusion bond on the surface of the silver.
Necklace is oxidized and measures: 20" L x1"W x3/8"D. Necklace does not need polished or cleaned as oxidation was used to further highlight the gold. Simply wipe clean with a cloth if needed and do not submerge in harsh chemicals as this will damage the stone and the Keum Boo.
